Job Description: Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

I. Job Purpose
  • Lead NCDEX to be a profitable Exchange through sustained strategies in all aspects of ESG
  • Grow the market share (in revenue, customers and products) for NCDEX and its subsidiaries in agricultural markets, expand product offerings and diversify product portfolios beyond agri commodities
  • Lead NCDEX to a successful IPO launch
  • Formulate, own and execute strategy for the Exchange across all functions
  • Drive strategy enablers and implement across NCDEX subsidiaries
  • Build a team of experts / talent in the Exchange

II. Key Accountabilities
Strategic:
  1. Lead NCDEX to a successful IPO launch
  2. Create an overall medium to long term strategy for the Exchange and its subsidiaries
  3. Create, cascade, implement and monitor the NCDEX Mission
  4. Create and execute a product and business development strategy in NCDEX
  5. Create processes, structures and goals to drive the growth of the Exchange
  6. Consistently review and monitor business performance, holding teams accountable for business results
  7. Ensure customers are served well across all channels, touch points and services
  8. Own the Marketing and Communication Strategy for the Exchange
  9. Identify and explore innovative avenues to increase business growth
  10. Monitor regulatory environment and ensure compliance to regulations, policies, legal statutes and norms of NCDEX and its subsidiaries in alignment to regulatory guidelines
  11. Network with decision makers and influencers in the public and private sector and generate a wider interest in NCDEX
  12. Advocacy for the cause of the organization in government and industry forums
  13. Managing board and investor relations
  14. Ensure continuous technological innovations to ensure that NCDEX stays ahead of the curve and competition.
  15. Leverage technology for internal efficiencies and to enhance customer experience
  16. Create a culture of agility, high accountability, ownership and high performance
  17. Manage and lead a business P&L
Operational:
  1. Guide, drive and manage the Marketing, Business Development and Operations team
  2. Ensure proactive risk management, audit compliance, high standards of financial rigor and regulatory, legal compliance and corporate governance standards.
  3. Drive operational efficiencies through optimizing internal processes (Initiate, propose and implement process improvements in areas of technology, customer service, tools, etc.)
  4. Create, monitor and achieve suitable metrics such as revenue, profitability, business development, sales, operations, customer satisfaction, etc. to measure the team’s performance
People Management:
  1. Lead NCDEX to be an employer of choice amongst Stock Exchanges and Clearing Corporations
  2. Manage performance of the team through consistent and regular reviews and provide ongoing coaching and direction to build a talented and motivated team of professionals
  3. Attract, retain and motivate a high performance team

IV. Profile:
Educational Qualification
  • Graduate in any discipline with a Post Graduate / MBA / any Professional degree (illustrative examples: LLB or CFA or CA or CS or PhD)
Previous Experience
  • Total of 20+ years of experience in the fields of capital market/ finance/ management with domain knowledge in marketing, operations or management, including minimum 5 years in senior management positions
Preferred Industries to be hired from
  • Agri / Agri Tech. companies or International/National Commodities companies
  • Banks / Financial Institutions or NBFCs
  • SCM or Warehousing companies or Exchanges
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Required Competencies
  • Knowledge of products and services offered in the commodities industry
  • Strong Communication and Influencing skills
  • Understanding of market infrastructure and knowledge of commodity exchange operations

Location               : Mumbai
Remuneration     : As per industry standards.
